Freedom.
“The questions that truly matter in life are remarkably few, and they are all answered by these words –– ‘Come to Me.’” -Oswald Chambers
As a self-proclaimed worrier and analyzer, this statement is balm for my needlessly anxious soul. I’m not proud of this proclamation, but I feel the truth of Peter’s words: “Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up…” I take my eyes off of Him to sort out a question or situation, and I tumble into the abyss of ‘What ifs’ and ‘maybes’ only to come up with unsurety and confusion. But! He offers us a way out, a connection to the Source of Surety and the Spirit to keep the connection secure. “The questions that truly matter in life are remarkably few, and they are all answered by these words, ‘Come to Me.”
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” -Matthew 11:28-30
The healing that comes from going to Him instead of endlessly pondering the situational possibilities that lay before us day in and day out, is freedom. The only True Freedom.
Do we live like we believe He is our sufficiency?
