Quiet Peace.
Keep your thoughts broad and long, sweeping and unfettered.
Don’t shorten the stride to be relevant or to contemplate self.
Stay Big, Infinitely Complete. Breathe.
Answer the question at hand and move on.
Resist the constraints.
There is no fear in perfect love.
Can’t walk in both worlds.
The quiet peace of His perfection does not flit.
If we are not growing, we are shrinking.
There is no such thing as unchanging… Except Him.
“There’s nothing left of that pretentious grandeur. Nobody lives there anymore. It’s unlivable.” -Isaiah 27:9ish
What if, in the end, we found out we were never really living. That to live, we would have to first be fully awake and maybe we were only half-awake at best. Or were there moments or glimpses of fullness woven into our sleeping, like far off dreams, but in reality, The Reality. Maybe, in the end, we will find that what we call life is actually death, and the dead are the ones really living.
“Nothing came of our labor. We produced nothing living. We couldn’t save the world. But friends, your dead will live, your corpses will get to their feet. All you dead and buried, wake up! Sing!” -Isaiah 26:18-19
“God Takes the Time to Do Everything Right
15-17 God, the Master, The Holy of Israel,
has this solemn counsel:
“Your salvation requires you to turn back to me
and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves.
Your strength will come from settling down
in complete dependence on me—
The very thing
you’ve been unwilling to do.
You’ve said, ‘No way! We’ll rush off on horseback!’
You’ll rush off, all right! Just not far enough!
You’ve said, ‘We’ll ride off on fast horses!’
Do you think your pursuers ride old nags?
Think again: A thousand of you will scatter before one attacker.
Before a mere five you’ll all run off.
There’ll be nothing left of you—
a flagpole on a hill with no flag,
a signpost on a roadside with the sign torn off.”
18 But God’s not finished. He’s waiting around to be gracious to you. He’s gathering strength to show mercy to you.
God takes the time to do everything right—everything.
Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones.” -Isaiah 30:15-18
Amen.
